Say Something Communications Inc. is a conference and event management company based in Ottawa, providing planning services to clients across Canada, in the US and Internationally.
We have been federally incorporated since 2007, but we started planning conferences and conventions long before that. We offer a wide range of conference and event management services to a variety of clients, including government, association, non-profit, corporate and private sector organizations.
Before we carry on with all the “here’s what we do and why you should choose us” content, let’s cover a few important points first.
- Our team works virtually (we have resources in every corner of the globe) reducing the overhead that’s passed on to our clients. We are really easy to work with and quick to find solutions to problems (usually before they become problems). We’re not nearly as expensive as you think a conference management firm should be and getting a free consultation costs you nothing!
- When you hire a conference planner, you also hire their network…and we have a big network. A really big network. We work with some of the best hotels, conference centers, audio visual companies, caterers, webcasters, printers, simultaneous interpreters etc… Really, our list of trusted suppliers goes on and on. You tell us you need a skating rink in the middle of July, we can make it happen (and it doesn’t even have to be in the Yukon – although we do love the Yukon)!
- One more thing about big networks…we’ve worked with these suppliers on many occasions, we bring them repeat business, year after year, client after client. That means we get some really great discounts that you likely wouldn’t. We also know where we should look for funding and how valuable the economic impact of your conference is to a specific city. We are always happy to go digging for funding and to pass on discounts.
- You know when you see the first hotel contract…all that legalese that immediately sets your mind racing about liability and risk and what happens if no one comes to the conference in the first place. And then there’s the word ‘ATTRITION’, a word which seems really unassuming at first glance but then you realize there’s big financial penalties somehow tied to that word and you have no idea what it really means. We get those words. We’ve spent years picking apart contracts, penalties, scary clauses and things that go bump in the night. If there’s only one piece of free advice you take away from these tidbits – let it be this: Hire your conference planner before you sign the hotel / venue contract!

We are members in good standing of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners (CanSPEP), and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
We currently operate from an office in downtown Ottawa, Ontario and our bilingual team is available to answer telephone inquiries Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm). We work with a full line of up-to-date Microsoft software programs along with graphic design/layout software including, the Adobe suite which includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator to support our design, production and communication activities.
